What is 304 stainless steel?
304 stainless steel is a common stainless steel material with excellent comprehensive properties. It is widely used in many fields such as industry, furniture decoration, food and medical treatment. The chemical composition of 304 stainless steel mainly includes iron, chromium and nickel, of which the chromium content is between 18%-20% and the nickel content is between 8%-10%. The density of this stainless steel is 7.93 g/cm³. It is also called 18/8 stainless steel in the industry because it contains more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel.
Characteristics
304 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance and mechanical properties. It can be used at high temperatures, with a maximum temperature resistance of up to 800℃, and has good processing performance and toughness. In addition, 304 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, but it needs to be cleaned regularly to avoid corrosion when used in industrial atmospheres or heavily polluted areas.
Application fields
Due to the excellent properties of 304 stainless steel, it is widely used in various fields. Common applications include:
Industry: Used to make various industrial equipment and parts.
Auto Parts: Various parts used in automobile manufacturing.
Household Products: Such as kitchen utensils, tableware, etc.
Furniture Decoration: Used to make furniture and decorations.
Agriculture: Used in agricultural equipment and tools.
Food and Medicine: Used in food processing, storage and transportation equipment, as well as medical devices.
Food Grade 304 Stainless Steel
It should be noted that food grade 304 stainless steel is different from ordinary 304 stainless steel. Food grade 304 stainless steel has stricter restrictions on heavy metal content to ensure safe use in food-related products.
